During the Windows Media Player 10 upgrade, a "Customize the Installation Options" dialog will appear. When it does, click the "File Types" tab and uncheck "MP3 audio files" to keep Winamp playing these files. You may want to uncheck other file types, as desired, if you already have preferred multimedia players for said file types. Foobar2000 is an advanced media player for the Windows platform.
